It’s no secret that I LOVE organized paperwork!
I just think it’s so important to have our bills, tax document, health records, financial information, and other important paperwork, organized in a way that we can quickly and easily find it whenever we need to.
I’ve seen SO much stress associated with disorganized paperwork — believe me, it’s not worth it. And with a baby on the way, it’s going to be even more important to keep all our important information organized and easy to find.
Thankfully, there are resources like AboutOne.com that offer simple, practical, and convenient online storage for all your most important paper documents and household information.

What is AboutOne?
AboutOne is a program designed by moms, for moms, to help organize all your important paperwork and information. AboutOne offers convenient online storage for all your photos, memorabilia, medical records, daily events, and more.
See why these busy moms and dads love AboutOne!
How will AboutOne benefit you?
Not only will AboutOne help you to clear the paper clutter from your home, it will also proved you with a safe, secure place to store your important information AND access it wherever you have Internet — even from your phone!
My favorite AboutOne features:
I love printables! I have all kinds of free printable documents on my blog, so I immediately fell in love with the great list of printables I can create with my AboutOne membership.

The image above is a screen-shot of my AboutOne dashboard and you can see I am able to create Family Newsletters, Babysitter Information Charts, Health History Reports, Caregiver Reports, Education History, and much more!
All of those documents will come in handy once baby Dekker arrives. And the best part is that once I input all our information into our AboutOne profile, it automatically creates these printables with just the click of the mouse!
AboutOne also offers the ability to send cards, invites, announcements, etc. right from your computer for the same price as a normal card — which could really come in handy for baby announcements.

Are you excited to organize your paperwork yet? If not, maybe a free AboutOne membership and an American Express gift card will do the trick!
AboutOne has generously offered a full-year membership AND a $50 American Express gift card to one lucky Simple Organized Living reader!

Giveaway: Clutter-Free Crafting with Silhouette SD
posted by Andrea | 05/17/2011 | 204 commentsThis giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to Kari (thestablers@…)!!! Out of 289 entries facebook comments and blog comments} you were randomly selected as the winner of the Silhouette SD!
I’ll be in contact with you soon or you can email me with your shipping information.

I’ve never been big into crafts — mainly because I can’t stand all the clutter they bring with them.
Fortunately I’ve found ways to express my creativity without accumulating lots of “stuff”.
For example, I really enjoy painting furniture or reupholstering furniture and then selling it on Craigslist. This gives me a chance to be creative, it brings in additional income, and I rarely have more than a few cans of paint and one bin of fabric to “clutter up” my home.
I love looking at other people’s crafts and I’ve always liked the idea of paper crafts {cards, tags, scrap-booking, etc.} but couldn’t ever justify the amount of stuff I would have to accumulate in order to get started.
But then I came across the Silhouette SD.

What is the Silhouette SD?
The Silhouette SD is an electronic cutting tool that connects to my computer allowing me to cut fonts and images in cardstock, vinyl, heat transfer material, and more — all with one little machine!
The Silhouette plugs into my computer just like a printer and includes software to create custom vinyl lettering and other designs using any font already installed on my computer. That means I don’t need to buy {or store} any extra expensive cartridges!
What can it make?
Honestly, it can make all sorts of things! I’ve only had mine for a week so I haven’t even come close to trying everything out… but here are a few pictures to give you an idea.

But one of the coolest things the Silhouette can do {at least in my opinion} is the custom vinyl lettering feature — which means I can make custom vinyl wall art for much cheaper than buying it from the store. {Plus I can make EXACTLY what I want using the fonts on my computer}

Another thing I love about the Silhouette SD is that their website has all sort of FREE classes, printable instructions, and creative ideas — you know, for those of us who aren’t so naturally creative!
And the final thing I love about the Silhouette SD is that one Simple Organized Living reader is going to win a FREE Silhouette SD and 3 rolls of heat transfer material.
Want to Win?
Giveaway includes a Silhouette SD and 3 rolls of heat transfer material that you can use to create custom designs on clothing, bags, hats, etc.
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite paper crafts. {Mandatory}
You can get one additional entry by subscribing to Simple Organized Living via RSS Reader or via email.
This contest is open until Tuesday, May 24 2011, at 10:00 pm EST. ONE winner will be selected at random and announced on Wednesday, May 25. Please read my full disclosure policy and contact me with any questions you might have. I received a Silhouette SD for review, however all opinions are my own!
Want to purchase your one Silhouette SD?
Use the promocode: SIMPLELIVING to get a Silhouette SD and three rolls of heat transfer material for $219. {If you already have a Silhouette you can get 25% off all heat transfer material.}
This promo code is valid through May 25, 2011.

Free Printable Password Worksheet
posted by Andrea | 03/31/2011 | 6 comments
Do you have Too Many Passwords?
?
Over that past few months, I’ve been asked numerous times if I could create a simple way to track and organize all the passwords, usernames, account numbers, and other information that is SO easy to forget.
Well, since “simple” is my specialty — I quickly whipped one up!
Actually, I already had a really cool spreadsheet that Dave and I have been using for the past several years. It helps us to organize all our many passwords…and believe me, it has saved out butts more times than I can count!
Since we do everything online, our life tends to run on usernames and passwords. So we keep a digital copy of this Excel Workbook on both our computers, and printed copies in our filing cabinet and in our fire-proof safe. This way, if anything ever happened to us, our relatives could access our bazillion different accounts without much trouble at all.
Let me show you around…
.
So when you download this free document {links are at the bottom because I actually want you to read this} you’ll see four different tabs — or worksheets.

The HOME tab simply explains more about this document, how to use it, and the copyright laws.
Credit Cards & Money Accounts Tab:
:
This tab provides a place for you to list ALL your different credit cards, bank accounts, and other money accounts.
I made enough space for your password and user name; PLUS extra space for all the other important information like the name on the account, the account number, company phone number and website, your secret questions and the answers — because all of that information is necessary at times.

Email, Internet, & Website Tab:
:
The second worksheet gives you a spot to store important log-in information for email accounts, craigslist, E-bay, PayPal, facebook, twitter, and any websites or blogs you have.
I also left a few blank spaces for you to add your own internet passwords.

Utilities Tab:
:
Dave and I pay ALL our bills online, so you better believe we have usernames, passwords, secret questions, pin numbers and more for every single account. But I keep it all organized on this Utilities Worksheet!

OK, so that’s my Password Workbook!
It works great for us, and hopefully it will work for you and all your passwords as well.
Obviously, this is not something you should carry around in your purse or computer case — it would be REALLY bad if you lost it!
However, keep it in your desk drawer, save it in a secure folder on your computer, put a copy in your filing cabinet, etc. so you always know where to find it when you need it.
Download this Free Workbook!
!
If you would like to simply PRINT the workbook and use it “as is” – click here.
If you would like to PRINT a BLANK version of the workbook — click here.
If you would like to DOWNLOAD the EXCEL workbook to EDIT on your own computer — click here.
Please Share This Workbook.
.
If you like this workbook, please feel free to share it on facebook, twitter, email, etc

Weekend Giveaway – NeatReceipts Digital Filing System
posted by Andrea | 03/19/2011 | 139 commentsThis giveaway is now closed.
Congrats to Tiffany @ Home Grown Families: “I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited about this!!! I will use it for receipts, warranties, recipes and my girls medical files!!!!
I’m so excited!!! *dbl squeeeeeee*”
You should receive an email from me shortly !!

I’m so excited about today’s giveaway!
!
I mean REALLY REALLY excited!
You see, I’ve wanted a NeatReceipts for almost three years. I coveted them every time I visited an office supply store. I searched on Ebay and Craigslist but no one was getting rid of them because they are so amazing. I even dreamed about how organized my papers, receipts, business cards, and other documents would be if I had my very own NeatReceipts.
So you can image how excited I was when The Neat Company offered to send me my very own NeatReceipts!
{insert giddy middle-school girl squealing}
And because I love my NeatReceipts so much, The Neat Company has generously offered to give another NeatReceitps away to one lucky Simple Organized Living reader!!
{insert more squealing}
What is a NeatReceipts?
?
Only the best, most wonderful, awesome, super cool digital filing system ever!
NeatReceipts is a portable scanner and digital filing system that helps you manage all of your paperwork on the computer. NeatReceipts includes NeatWorks scanner software that identifies and extracts the important information from receipts, business cards and documents and automatically organizes it for you. All scanned documents can be searched by keyword so you can find exactly what you need. NeatWorks software gives you an easy-to-use, intuitive application to manage all of your business and personal paperwork.
Quoted from Neatco.com
I could go on and on about all the cool featuers and the many reason I LOVE my NeatReceipts, but then we’d all be here for way too long.
So instead, you can watch the video below:
If you’re reading this in a feed reader, you may have to click here to view it.
And if you still can’t see the video, click here to watch it on the NeatCo website.
See, I told you it’s amazing!
!
It’s actually even better than I imagined it to be.
A Few of my Favorite Features:
:
1. It’s small.
It’s about the same size as a ruler and weighs less than a pound which means I can carry it around wherever I go.

2. It’s smart.
The NeatWorks software takes each item you scan in and looks for key information.
For example, if you scan in a receipt, it will automatically look for the date, vendor, purchase amount, and sales tax. On business cards, it looks for the name, company, title, address, phone, email, website, and fax. On other documents, the software captures all of the printed text and gives it to you in searchable PDF format.
This means it will be really easy to find everything you need by performing a basic keyword search.
3. It’s simple.
I obviously love simplicity, so I was thrilled to find how simple it was to install and use my NeatReceipts. Seriously, I had it up and running in about 10 minutes!
And the NeatWorks software allows me quickly and easily organize all my receipts, business cards, and other documents right from my desktop. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

4. It’s stylish.
I usually don’t like anything sitting out on my desk, but the NeatReceipt is really sleek and stylish so I really don’t mind. Plus, I use it all the time so it’s more practical to leave it out.
5. It’s sophisticated.
The NeatReceipts organizes all my business receipts and information in such a way that I can simply print out an attractive PDF report and give it to my accountant when tax season rolls around. The reports look so professional.
I’m also using the NeatReceipts for all Dave and my personal paperwork {and my recipes} — it has totally saved my butt a couple times when I “accidentally” threw away an important receipt! And now I can simply search for old recipes with key-words…so quick and easy.
Oh yeah, and I also love it because it allows me to get rid of nearly every piece of paper in my filing cabinet! My goal is to be completely paperless by 2012. {we’ll there will be a few things I’ll have to keep…but still!}

So who wants to win their very own NeatReceipts?
?
The NeatReceipts sells for over over $200 in stores, but you can enter to win one today by doing the following…
1. Leave a comment telling me how you might use your NeatReceipts. {Mandatory}
2. Like me on Facebook and/or copy and paste the following message on YOUR facebook wall:
